5 Tips for setting up your virtual event

So, you want to host a live event? Here are a few quick tips to help you host an engaging and successful live event.

There is some good news with Russia claiming the first-ever vaccine for COVID-19. But what we still need to realize, is that it will be a while before the vaccine reaches the people of the world. The new normal would still be the norm for a few more months to come. For content creators, it is still a great time to invest time and energy in virtual events. For corporate, trainers, artists, and anyone who is looking to create a virtual event, here are a few quick tips:

  1. Time it perfectly: The timing is absolutely important when it comes to your virtual event. If you plan to go global, make sure that you take time zones into consideration. If you’ve already been hosting virtual events, check the time slots when your audience is the most active. Make sure that there are no competing events or holidays that would interfere with your audience’s attendance. This way, you can also send out emails and messages to your followers about the event in advance.
  2. Be ready for technical glitches: Technical glitches are common with virtual events. With broadband issues to device malfunctions, anything can go wrong. Prepare for these glitches. Practice a few times before getting into the event and be prepared to deal with any technical issues with a nice, humorous message. Your conduct during such times would do a lot of good to your brand value.
  3. Encourage two-way communication: Ask your fans to engage with your content. Make sure you use as many digital promotion channels as you can to get engagement. Ask your fans to leave comments, encourage them to take polls and quizzes as well. At the end of the event, don’t forget to ask for feedback. This would ensure that your audience comes back for other experiences you may plan in the future.
  4. Give out a carrot: To ensure that your event gets maximum views, it’s recommended to create a hook. It could be either in the form of a freebie or a celebrity visit or something unique. You can also look for influencers to join you in the event. You can also give a theme to your event to make it better and more engaging.
  5. Promote it well: If you’re hosting an event for your audience of a specific niche, it is crucial to ensure that you start promoting the event way in advance. Platforms like FeelitLIVE will help you promote your event by marketing it among their own follower base, but you need to ensure that you get the word going about the date and time of your event. Proper, targeted promotions, ideally 15 days in advance, will help you get a lot of views.

Virtual events contribute massively to brand building and will be very helpful even after the pandemic is over. The content you create will always be your own asset and you never know, one of these virtual events could shoot you to fame really quick!
